My Founding Conviction

A belief I have had for a long time led me to start Scáth Solas Media: too many great stories were not being told. All around me, I saw passionate business owners with tiny logos, non-profits with strong goals but mixed-up messages, and amazing lives that were going unnoticed. The way they told their stories and the quality of their work just did not match up with how the world saw them.

I knew I was the only one who could solve this problem. I knew I needed a creative partner who did not think of writing and designing as two different tasks, but as two parts of the same whole. I made my company to be that partner—a spot where words and images could finally work together to honor my clients' great work and important memories..

We think that timeless human talent and the most powerful tools can work together. Even though we use cutting-edge technology to make things faster, our process is not at all like clicking a button. Craftsmen are responsible for this very careful work. While technology can help, real success comes from carefully following design rules, using color in a smart way, and always making ideas better.

We use technology as a strong tool to bring a carefully thought-out artistic idea to life by gathering information from the client, working together, and making changes. Making the final, important work is never a quick process; it is the result of a long-term effort based on knowledge and a dedication to your full happiness.

When I'm not at my desk...

Most of the time, you can find me outside hiking. Mountain bike riding is fun for me, and now that I have a hybrid electric bike, I can cover more ground in half the time. When I am not on my bike, I like to travel, play disc golf with my wife, or work on a new wood project, whether it’s building something outside or making furniture for inside. I thoroughly enjoy making things, but I have to say that the artistic work I get to do here on the computer is what I really love.
