At ScáthSolas Media, we are committed to providing high-quality, custom creative services. Our Refund Policy is designed to be transparent and fair to both our clients and our business. Due to the personalized and service-based nature of our work, we do not offer refunds on work that has already been completed. We encourage you to read this policy carefully before engaging our services.
Our Philosophy on Refunds
When you engage ScáthSolas Media, you are purchasing our time, expertise, and the creative process itself—not just a final product. Our fees are based on the hours of research, strategy, design, and writing that go into every project. Because we cannot recover the time that has been spent on a project, we do not offer refunds on services already rendered.
Non-Refundable Deposit
All projects require a non-refundable deposit before work can begin. This deposit serves two purposes: (1) It secures your project in our work schedule, and (2) It covers the initial costs of our discovery, research, and preliminary creative work. This deposit is non-refundable, even if the project is cancelled before completion.
No Refunds for Services Rendered
Payments for project milestones or for work that has already been completed are non-refundable. Throughout the creative process, we will maintain clear communication and provide opportunities for feedback and revisions as outlined in your Project Agreement. Once a milestone has been approved and the work has been completed, that portion of the service is considered rendered and is not eligible for a refund.
Project Cancellation
If you choose to cancel a project for any reason, the initial deposit will not be refunded. Furthermore, you will be invoiced for all work that has been completed up to the date of cancellation, billed at our standard hourly rate (a "kill fee"). Upon receipt of this final payment, we will deliver all completed work files to you. No further services will be performed.
Special Considerations for Legacy Storytelling
We understand that our Legacy Storytelling service is a deeply personal and often emotional process. We approach this work with the utmost compassion and flexibility. However, due to the significant time and emotional energy invested in the "Gathering the Memories" and writing phases, our non-refundable policy on deposits and work completed still applies. We will work closely with you to ensure the final tribute is a perfect and lasting reflection of your loved one.
Final Deliverables
Once the final deliverables for a project have been approved by you in writing and the final files have been transferred, the project is considered complete. No refunds will be issued for a completed and delivered project.
