Case Study: A Cut Above Tree Service
Turning a Day's Work into a Lasting Brand Story
Character and expertise are the foundations of trust for a local service company. The chance to capture both was presented by this project for 'A Cut Above Tree Service' in West Michigan. The objective was to turn a single tree trimming job into a potent, evergreen marketing tool by going beyond a straightforward service description and crafting a feature article with lots of photos that tells the tale of owner Ricky Hovey's craftsmanship.
The Challenge: From a Tree to a Tale
How can you produce engaging content for a practical industry like tree care? Finding the human story within the work was just as difficult as documenting it. The aim was to develop a story that would not only highlight the company's extensive offerings but also establish a personal rapport with prospective clients by emphasizing the knowledge and active involvement of its proprietor, Ricky Hovey.
"A lot of companies can cut off a branch or get rid of a stump, but this local, owner-run business does a lot more."
"To maintain these significant properties, you require a true forestry partner—not just a trimming service."
"You can be sure that whoever is quoting you is also the one who knows how to do the job correctly and is aware of all the specifics."
The Impact: An Evergreen Marketing Asset
The final product serves as a multipurpose marketing tool. It functions as a comprehensive service manual, a solid recommendation, and a professional example. By capturing the authentic story of a local craftsman, I created a durable asset that enhances the "A Cut Above" brand and can attract new clients for years to come. This project shows that a compelling story is the best growth tool for any company.
